Vena Cava unfolds its darkness with initial notes of orris, ylang-ylang, brooding oud, and a faint trace of smoke from burning embers. The blood accord is the heart of this fragrance —berry-like and slightly metallic. As the fragrance evolves on the drydown, a deep red merlot gracefully emerges through the mist, adding a layer of decadence to the composition before it settles into a woody and metallic symphony with hints of fruit and musk.

To be honest, I was worried about the scent when I first opened the bottle. It was very medicinal when I first opened it, and it reminded me of some kind of tincture from my childhood.
However, on the skin, it is wonderfully dark, metallic and brings this smokey, but icy scent of flowers and embalming fluid with a hint of blood that's been sitting for a little bit.
Not a lot of the ylang-ylang comes through for me, but there a heavy merlot smell with a cord of embalming that is very very strong when you first open the bottle, but it settles down to a strange floral mix with metal, blood, and rot.
I personally very much like it, and it is a wonderful addition to my collection, but I will say if you are not common to wear "strange perfume" scents (ex: I wear one that smells of just straight dirt and undergrowth often), be sparing with the amount you use. It is very strong and let it settle.
I've never owned a perfume that spoke to me quite the way this one does. It stirs up memories of haunted houses, halloween parties, and nights spent in hospitals. It is both off-putting and comforting. It's also of the highest quality, this scent sticks to you all day long! Not to mention the perfumer herself was also incredibly fast with getting my order to me despite being the only one producing these scents! Incredible work, truly!

It's a really deep and luxurious smell and I love when it dries down.
I got this as a gift for my partner. They said it's surprisingly smokey and earthy with a blood scent that grows as the perfume sets.
